Surfing the Atlantic

Went to St. Augustine Beach last weekend to catch some waves, and it was really, really nice. The waves weren’t huge, but they were well-formed, the water was flat and smooth, hardly any wind and a beautiful, sunny day. This was on Saturday, June 3, 2006. We had left early in the morning, around 6:45, to make it there by about 10 a.m. We ended up staying in a motel across the street from where this photo was taken. This picture is off of the Surf Station website, the St. Augustine Beach surf shop par excellence. Alex, Ryan and I just happened to be in front of the camera, and this shot was put up on their surf report website. Alex and Ryan are walking up the beach to check out the surf on the far side (away from the local surf competition) while I was chatting up a nice lady sunning herself on the beach.
