Our Thanksgiving in Tokyo III

Here's my friend Ian and his young son Aidan. He hadn't been born yet when I left Japan in 2004, and it was great to finally meet him over dinner in Kichijoji with the parents Ian and Koriki. Ian's a good, old friend of mine and we worked together as well. It was really good to see them again.

Koriki is Ian's gorgeous wife that I met the night after they had been married.

We visited the palace one afternoon. Here's a shot of Edie overlooking the moat and bridge to the palace proper.

Here's the opposite view showing the buildings of Maronouchi and Ginza backing up to the Imperial gardens.

The main view of the Asakusa temple. I never get bored of visiting this area with its shops, food stalls and restaurants.

This is Edie at the main gate to the Asakusa temple.

This is Omotesando Dori, the heart of the Tokyo Fashion district. It's also a very nice neighborhood to carouse in the afternoon.

We had Thanksgiving dinner with my old friend Emiko and her friend. It was at an izakaya, and we partook of octopus ball omelettes, raw horse sukiyaki, and seafood salad, all of it delicious.

We met my old friend Nick Ward and his wife Mieko. Here's Edie and Mieko as we had drinks at an izakaya in Kawaguchi.

The one and indubitable Nick Ward and myself.
