Very Proud

I want to write more after Obama's election win last night, but I am completely exhausted after teaching six different classes today in six different classrooms, flying home to let the dog out and feed her, then flying back to Cal State for my 4 hour class, then coming home to summarize a chapter from Paolo Freire's The Pedagogy of the Oppressed and send it to my group leader to include in a presentation for class tomorrow, where I'll be partially presenting. Can I have a cerveza now? Pretty please?

One thing that I have to say is that I am very proud of what we did as a country in the election yesterday. We did what needed to be done and in the process elected a minority immigrant's son into the highest office in the land, which is what the idea of our country is all about. I heard a good point from someone today: "My European friends were all excited about Obama's candidacy, but it struck me that they probably wouldn't be excited about a similar person being elected the prime minister of their own country."
