Post Holiday

And so goes another Holiday Season. This year we elected to stay in the land of sunshine, missing all of our family relations, unfortunately, but we still managed to have a great time all by our lonesomes. You can see Edie making one of several batches of brownies over Xmas.

Here I am making homemade tortillas for the traditional Xmas morning breakfast tacos. These, as always were mouth-wateringly delicious, using Robert Rodriguez' recipes.

No vacation would be proper without some hiking. Brad and I took a jaunt up the Mount Cahuenga trail behind the Hollywood sign. Due to the several days of rain that we've had extending from Thanksgiving to Xmas, the skies were amazingly clear, and one can see how beautiful Los Angeles is once all the smog and haze is out of the air. Above is Brad standing in front of Burbank, the Verdugo Hills and at the back the top line of the San Gabriel Mountains, and the following photo is looking over Hollywood, Westwood, Santa Monica, Venice Beach, and the shining sea. At the bottom you can see part of the Hollywood Reservoir, destroyed in soooo many disaster movies of the past 40 years.

The next shot looks towards downtown, another nice one.
