CSULA Outstanding Student Teacher 2008-09

Last week I went to an awards ceremony for my California State University Los Angeles cohort, those of us who graduated with California Teaching Credentials. I thought we were all going to get an honorary diploma or something to note the fact that we passed and got our credentials. Little did I know that out of 600 grads, 12 of us (including me) would get the Outstanding Student Teacher Award, shown above. What's funny is that my 2 closest friends in my cohort, Jason and Jessica, were the other 2 high school student teachers to get the award as well. The others were special ed and elementary teachers.

I'm looking very sheepish in the picture above, accepting my award. It's weird standing in front of a big crowd of people while someone on the podium says how wonderful you are. The next shot shows all of the Single Subject Credential Teachers (high school and junior high), happy to be done!

Aww congratulations!
I knew you were a good teacher but I didn't know you were getting awards and stuff!
