Finished a long job

So sorry I haven't posted anything in so long. I just finished a long term substitute teaching job that started last October, teaching a senior English class and a sophomore World History class. I've been busy inside and outside of the classroom for the last 2 months straight because I was teaching 6 classes a day with no off period, and only extra time at home to grade papers and plan and prepare lessons. Now that it's over, I'm a bit shell-shocked.

It wasn't easy leaving my classes last Friday though. It seems that a lot of my students got very attached to me and my teaching style, and they were sad to see me go. The students gave me standing ovations, pleas for me not to go, made me promise to come to their graduation, etc. It was quite emotional, I wasn't expecting it to affect me so much.

Anyway, the teaching business in California is in the worst shape it probably has ever been in. LAUSD is laying off even more teachers than they did last year, which won't help jobsearching this year. I'm planning on looking for a job in almost any field until this slump gets better.
